Gaming · Social Media · Digital Addiction · Australia
Gaming addiction, social media dependency, and broader digital addiction are real, clinically documented conditions affecting millions of people. They are also recoverable. Attention Reset is coaching built by someone who went through it without a guide. This is the guide.
Why This Exists
I spent years hiding behind a screen, telling myself it was not a problem, until it cost me everything that mattered. My career. My relationships. My sense of who I was.
When I finally decided to quit, I could not find support that felt right. AA felt like the wrong room. Therapy was not built for this. I had to build my own way out, largely alone.
"I built Attention Reset to be the thing I wish had existed. You should not have to figure this out without a guide."
Gaming and social media addiction are recognised clinical conditions with measurable neurobiological effects. They are also recoverable. Attention Reset exists to make that recovery more accessible, more structured, and more human.
Brain imaging studies show the same structural changes seen in drug addiction. This is not weakness. It is biology.
When your reward system is calibrated to gaming, ordinary life registers as genuinely underwhelming. That is a symptom, not a character flaw.
Leaving gaming means leaving communities. That loss is genuine. Recovery has to acknowledge it, not dismiss it.
The games are specifically engineered to resist moderation. Understanding why you keep gaming is the first step to actually stopping.

About Dylan
I started gaming as a teenager and by my mid-twenties it had become the organising principle of my life. I was not playing for fun. I was playing to escape a career I had neglected, a marriage that was struggling, and a version of myself I did not want to face.
I tried to quit multiple times. I failed multiple times. What eventually worked was not willpower. It was understanding what gaming was doing for me, and deliberately building a life that did those things better.
"The hardest part of this process is also the earliest part. Get through Day 3. Get through Week 1. The rest builds on a foundation that gets progressively more stable."
Attention Reset exists because I could not find anything that felt right when I needed it. It is built on the research, on lived experience, and on the firm belief that nobody should have to figure this out alone.

I was gaming 8 hours a day and lying to myself it was fine. Six weeks later I have a new job, back at the gym, and actually feel present in my life again.
The accountability alone was worth the price. Having someone who actually understood the psychology made all the difference. Week 1 was brutal. Week 3 I started to feel like myself again.
My son had not left his room in three months. Dylan worked with our whole family and gave us a language and a process. We are not there yet but we are moving.

Questions
No. Attention Reset is coaching, not therapy. Dylan is not a licensed psychologist or therapist. Coaching focuses on practical strategies, accountability, and structured action. If you have co-occurring mental health conditions, we can help you identify appropriate clinical referrals alongside the coaching work.
For most people with genuine IGD, complete abstinence is what the research and lived experience support. The program is built around abstinence. That said, your situation is discussed openly in the discovery call and we work out the right approach for you.
Sessions are conducted via video call at a time that works for you. Between sessions you have email access for questions and accountability. The program follows the RESET Protocol structure, adapted to your specific situation, triggers, and goals.
Yes. The Reset Together family program is specifically designed for parents and families. Research consistently shows that family involvement is one of the most significant factors in recovery. The program coaches parents first, then works on the family dynamic as a whole.
Relapse is a documented and expected part of the recovery process for many people. It does not mean the program has failed. It means we have more information about your triggers and what needs to change. The program continues. Relapsing has to beat you every time. You only have to win once.
Completely. Everything discussed in coaching sessions and email communication is private and confidential. There is no clinical reporting obligation in a coaching context. What you share stays between you and Dylan.
You do not need to have it all figured out before you make contact. A free 30-minute call is just a conversation. No commitment, no pressure, no pitch. Just an honest discussion about where you are and what might be possible.
